I’m so glad you’ve found yourself here! I’m Sydney, the founder and licensed therapist of Made For This Counseling. My top priority is providing my clients with a trusting, warm, and welcoming space that promotes growth and healing. I value and truly believe in the positive impact therapy can have in a person’s life. With me, you will always be met with empathy, compassion, and respect. Through our work, and the use of evidence-based treatments, you will be able to move through the hurt and heaviness, and feel confident using helpful coping skills that enhance your overall well-being. a holistic approach considers all aspects that make up an individual and acknowledge the interconnectedness between them. by emphasizing the whole-self, it allows you to begin to navigate life more authentically and align yourself with what matters most to you.

relational.

as humans we inherently need connection through human relationships. by taking a deeper look at the relationships that were impactful in our development and attachment we can identify how they have affected us today. relational therapy also acknowledges how important the therapeutic relationship is in promoting lasting healing and change.

collaborative.

you know yourself best. it is important that we work together, so you can get the most out of this therapy experience. I invite my clients to give feedback on what is and isn’t working, so that we can work together to achieve your goals.

individual therapy.

Therapy provides a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space to explore, and process distressing emotions, thoughts, memories and unhelpful behaviors. It is helpful in increasing your self-awareness, and promoting emotional healing, personal growth, and overall well-being. In therapy you have the opportunity to explore your inner world and gain a better understanding of yourself, your relationships, and recieve support through challenges you face. Through the therapeutic process, you can will gain and learn new coping skills, develop healthier behaviors, and explore ways to make positive changes in your life.

virtual therapy.

We offer virtual (online) therapy because we know how busy life can be and that sometimes engaging in therapy from the comfort of your own space is nice! Virtual therapy offers convenience, flexibility, and accessibility while still providing the same level of professional care and support as traditional in-person therapy.

group therapy.

Group therapy serves as a valuable addition to individual therapy. In a small group setting, you can share your thoughts, feelings, and struggles openly and receive support from both the therapist and fellow group members who are going through similar challenges. Group therapy can decrease feelings of isolation by empowering clients through community.

nature therapy.

Also known as ecotherapy, is an approach to therapy that utilizes the healing power of nature and mindfulness practices. Weather permitting of course, have the opportunity to take our sessions outside in nature. There are a range of benefits that this type of therapy can provide: stress reduction and relaxation, feeling grounded in the present moment, mindfulness, and the use of environmental metaphors as a way to gain insight and process emotions.
